Example:
Abraham Lincoln once said, Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

This puts a scroll bar on a box when the contents inside are too big to fit inside that box. You can also mess with the poperties of the scroll box as you would see fit.
Example:
<div style= "height:120px;width:120px;border:1px solid #ccc;font:16px/26px Georgia, Garamond, Serif;overflow:auto;"> There should be a scroll bar around this as the text should be too big and too fit inside it. There are also no suprises in this box. </div>
